Can I stain my wooden stairs?

It is perfectly fine to do staining on any solid wood areas, including wooden stairs. For our wooden stairs staining and stairs restoration projects, we use Morrells stains, which come in various shades and colours, which we apply on the sanded surface. This is then followed by the application of multiple layers of hard-wearing water-based wood floor varnish.
Do you sand bamboo flooring?

While bamboo (as final product) is not exactly timber, it is possible to sand and varnish bamboo flooring. However, bamboo floor sanding needs to be done with extreme care and it requires a specific approach and highly skillful flooring technicians. We will not recommend sanding and varnishing bamboo flooring yourself. Bamboo floor sealing, for example, requires the application of solvent based, rather than water-based sealants. Also, wood floor staining is not recommended on bamboo floors.
Can an engineered wood flooring with underfloor heating be restored?

Hi Tom,
Yes, any engineered wood flooring can be sanded with or without underfloor heating, as long as the thickness of the top layer of the product is at least 3 mm.
Engineered flooring products are manufcatured in thickness of 14-15 mm, 18 mm and 20 mm. Each time the floor is sanded, a small portion of the top layer is removed, so if the top layer becomes too thin, further sanding could compromise the integrity of the floor and potentially expose the underlying material. If you can check the thickness of your plank, you will also know how many times the floors can be sanded.

For domestic floor sanding services, we apply 1 coat of primer followed by 2 coats of lacquer. You can choose from the available sheen options, which are extra-matt, matt, satin, and gloss.
For floor sanding in public spaces (offices, schools, church halls), we use 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of high quality commercial-grade lacquer. Sheen options available are extra-matt, matt, and satin.
Extra coats are available upon request, but we do not recommend more than 5 coats, including primer.
What is the lead time for your floor sanding services?

Lead times can vary, but usually we accommodate works within 2 weeks even in the summer when there is higher demand for the service. However, we do occasionally receive cancellations, so availability can be more flexible than initially anticipated. If your floor restoration works are urgent, we recommend checking with a member of our team to explore the possibility of an earlier appointment.
How long does it take before the floors can be used again after the sanding service?
