Before the works...
The solid merbau parquet flooring in this Pinner house was looking tired and in urgent need of renovation with partial repairs. During our initial survey, we did a thorough inspection of the floors and discussed with the client all possible options.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding, floor repairs and gap filling of merbau parquet flooring and finishing the floors in satin Lacquer.
How we completed the floor works...
Our works included wood floor renovation of approx. 18 sqm parquet flooring and finishing in 3 coats satin Lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of Lacquer.
Our floor renovation service begins with detailed inspection of the floors and any repairs to the parquet flooring will be completed in this initial stage. In this project approx. we have repaired approx. 1 sqm of parquet flooring and covered a section fairly wide channel of heating pipes with meranti strip.
We also carried out gap filling as part of the wood floor sanding process. We aim to apply resin filler in the end of the working day, so it settles properly overnight and we can repeat it on the following day , if required. The resin gap filling is after that removed by next step of the finishing process with medium grids .
Overall the project was completed as planned and to the satisfaction of the client.
Did you know this about merbau flooring?
Merbau has dark rich red colour and sometimes, our clients will ask us to whiten it or "bleach" the merbau floors. We do not do that, to merbau. We tried it, but it's stubborn and we recommend to keep you merbau floors in the natural colour domain. You can check for more information our flooring guide about wood timbers.
