Before the installation works...
In this Hemel Hempstead flat we fitted approx. 32 sqm sqm of oak parquet flooring. During our free survey, we did detailed inspection of the floors and discussed with the client all possible options.
Our client has decided to go for floor fitting, subfloor preparation, staining, and install Timbercraft Oak Parquet Flooring, Prime, Unfinished with around perimeter.
How we completed the installation works...
After our floor installers have checked all service, property & products details on site, including amount of products supply, they started with lifting existing laminate flooring and its preparation for disposal to our waste facility.
During this flooring project we laid 32 sqm of parquet flooring, specifically - Timbercraft Oak Parquet Flooring, Prime, Unfinished with glue-down installation in herringbone pattern with border around, over concrete subfloors.
Parquet flooring laying requires years of experience, skills and the right carpentry tools. Depending on the overall condition of the subfloor, our initial assessment identifies if sepcific subfloor preparation will be required.
As per our initial assessment, the subfloor was prepared with 12 mm GP plywood before the floor installation.
A number of colour samples were provided on a sanded surface for the client to review and approve, prior to application of the colour and finishing the floors. The client decided to go with floor staining in colour.
Overall the project was completed as originally planned and to the delight of the client.

Oak wood is a durable and strong hardwood timber known for its distinct grain patterns and wide range of colors, from light brown to reddish tones. It has a coarse texture with prominent grain markings, making it a popular choice for furniture, flooring, cabinetry, and structural applications. Oak is highly resistant to wear, moisture, and insect damage, offering long-lasting durability. It takes staining in dark, light, greys and whites well, with lacquer and oil-based finishes. Another reason that makes it the most popular timber for wooden flooring offering versatility in both traditional and contemporary designs.
