Before the works...
The oak solid wood flooring in this Woodford house was looking tired and in urgent need of refinishing. During our initial survey, we did detailed inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all possible options, followed by detailed quote with our floor sanding & repairs pricing.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding, staining and gap filling of 48 sqm oak solid wood flooring and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.
How we completed this oak solid wood flooring renovation...
One of the challenges we experienced during this project was to complete the floor works in stages, due to bulky pieces of furniture, which could not be moved out.
Solid solid wood flooring floors are durable, long-lasting and therefore, we often find them in condition, which requires more time & care. Our team will re-inspect the floors for movement and in case it requires any repairs, prior to the floor sanding works.
During the solid oak floor renovation, the entire area is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to sealant application & between the coats, for perfect results.
Our works included approx. 48 sqm oak solid wood flooring floor renovation and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of Bona Mega Natural lacquer.
We also carried out gap filling as part of the floor restoration process. We aim to apply resin filler in the end of the working day, so it settles properly overnight and we can repeat it on the following day, if required. The filler is after that removed by next step of the finishing process with medium grids.
A number of colour samples were provided on a sanded surface for the client to review and approve, prior to application of the colour and finishing the floors. The client decided to go with solid wood flooring staining in whitewash colour.
Overall, this floor renovation project in Woodford was completed as planned and to the delight of the client.
