Before the works

Parquet floor restoration is required every once in a while to remove existing scratches and renew the shine and beauty of the floors. This floor restoration project in Kensington was skillfully done by our floor sanders during a home renovation project preparing the property for potential property sale as the owner realised the hidden value of his parquet flooring.

Once the beauty of the parquet floors was restored to its previous glory following our parquet sanding service, the owner was able to put the price of their property up

How we did it...

During the floor restoration service we had to replace several parquet blocks, which were affected by an old leak. This can be expected for old parquet floors and was swiftly resolved as we do parquet floor repairs on regular bases and are often able to supply matching parquet blocks.

Once the parquet floor repairs were done, we carefully sanded down and re-lacquered the floors with "Junckers HP Commercial" in UltraMatt sheen - a durable finish, which gave the floors completely new look to the joy of our clients.

Did you know this about oak flooring?

Oak wood is a durable and strong hardwood timber known for its distinct grain patterns and wide range of colors, from light brown to reddish tones. It has a coarse texture with prominent grain markings, making it a popular choice for furniture, flooring, cabinetry, and structural applications. Oak is highly resistant to wear, moisture, and insect damage, offering long-lasting durability. It takes staining in dark, light, greys and whites well, with lacquer and oil-based finishes. Another reason that makes it the most popular timber for wooden flooring offering versatility in both traditional and contemporary designs.
