Before the works...
The wenge parquet flooring in this Kensington flat was looking tired and in timely need of refinishing. During our obligation-free survey, we did a thorough inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all possible options, followed by detailed quote with our floor sanding & repairs pricing.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding and floor repairs of 79 sqm wenge parquet flooring and finishing the floors in extra-matt Lacquer.
How we completed this wenge parquet flooring restoration...
Parquet flooring comprises of many small wooden pieces forming a pattern. Our team will carefully inspect the floors for loose blocks and hollowness, and take steps on this stage, if required.
During the wenge parquet flooring sanding the entire timber surface is going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to sealing & between the coats, for excellent results.
Our works included approx. 79 sqm wenge parquet flooring floor restoration and finishing in extra-matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Junckers HT700 lacquer (previously known as Junckers HP Commercial).
Our floor refinishing service begins with detailed inspection of the floors and any repairs to the parquet flooring will be completed in this initial stage. In this project we supplied matching material & replaced approx. 1 sqm of parquet flooring.
Overall, this floor restoration project in Kensington was completed as planned and to the delight of the client.

Did you know this about wenge flooring?
Wenge wood is a dense, dark hardwood timber native to Africa, known for its deep brown to almost black color with fine, dark streaks. It has a coarse texture and a straight to slightly interlocked grain, giving it a unique and striking appearance. Wenge is highly durable and resistant to wear, making it ideal for flooring, furniture, and high-end cabinetry. It is also valued for its strength and stability, though its hardness can make it challenging to work with and requires a professional floor restoration service.
