Before the works...
The pine floorboards in this Twickenham house was looking tired and in timely need of renovation. During our obligation-free survey, we did a thorough inspection of the wooden floors & discussed with the client all available choices, followed by itemised quote with our floor restoration & repairs pricing for floorboards.
Our client has decided to go for floor sanding, floor repairs and staining of 56 sqm pine floorboards and finishing the floors in matt Lacquer.
How we carried out this pine floorboards restoration...
The original thickness of the pine floorboards used for properties is approx. 20 mm when laid. Pine timber shrinks with the time and also becomes thinner every time the floors are restored. The nominal thickness, after which floorboards cannot be restored any further is approx. 15 mm.
At this stage our team will inspect in detail the thickness of the floorboards and also advise if any further repairs or floorboards replacement may be recommended prior to the floor restoration works.
During the sanding of the floorboards, the original floors are going through a sanding process of levelling with coarser grids, finishing with finer grids, and finally buffing, prior to the application of the sealant & between the coats, for perfect results.
Our works included approx. 56 sqm pine floorboards floor sanding and finishing in matt lacquer. The sealing went down with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Junckers HT700 lacquer.
Our floor renovation service begins with detailed inspection of the floors and any repairs to the floorboards will be completed in this initial stage. In this project we supplied matching material & replaced approx. 5 sqm of original floorboards.
Our team prepared few samples on the unfinished sanded timber surface for the client to approve prior to application of the finish. The client chose to go for staining their floorboards in medium oak colour to compliment their interior.
Overall, this floor sanding project in Twickenham was completed as planned and to the delight of the client.
